Project Overview:

Camden Council sought to inform and seek feedback from landowners as part of precinct planning for South Creek West. This approach aimed to provide landowners with information about the proposal, collect feedback and gain insight into the needs and aspirations of the South Creek West community.

Objective:

The primary objective was to engage with landowners, inform them about the planning proposal, and gather their feedback and perspectives. The engagement process aimed to record themes, individual concerns, and aspirations that would inform decision-making regarding the future of South Creek West precinct.

Our Role:

Captivate consulting was tasked with:

  • Facilitation –  Facilitation of landowner workshops and preparing communication materials for landowners.
  • Activity design – Our workshop activities were  crafted to empower landowners to share their feedback, express concerns, pose questions, and contribute innovative ideas.
  • Reporting – We collated and reported feedback from the workshops and formal submission process. This was constructed in an Engagement Outcomes Report.

Challenges:

  • Effective communication and engagement with on a topic that has potential to impact stakeholders in different ways.
  • Complex facilitation involves balancing landowners’ expectations, ensuring their voices are heard while adhering to the workshop’s core purpose.
  •

Outcome:

The engagement process yielded valuable feedback from landowners via workshops and submissions, capturing themes and perspectives. This input helped  inform early-stage planning for the South Creek West Precinct.
